My last memory of owning, let alone wearing, a bandana was Mrs. G’s art class circa 2007. Picture young Nicole, not yet artistically inclined, fishing through bandanas between attempts at drawing fish for the science fair project. However, as time has gone by, both who I am, and the fashion world have evolved.
As a newly 20 -year-old in her junior year ( all you Virgos, you know who you are), I’ve run to make many a 9:30 AM class to understand that dressing chic and “runway ready” isn’t always possible. When I slack in my fashion choices (we all have those days), I’m not nearly as motivated or excited about the day ahead.
Cue in an accessory that dresses up any ‘jeans and T-shirt’ look so you can rock effortless chic without the effort. I’ve seen the bandana trend picking up for a couple of months, but I’ve been hesitant to try it, in case I started to resemble Anne of Green Gables.
What’s more versatile than a piece that doubles as a head piece and a neck scarf?
Here’s a look at the way I’ve been loving to style bandanas.
